Review by Jill Williamson for NovelTeen

Recently divorced Clay is an editor for a publishing house. He has been walking through life in a daze, devastated by his ex-wife’s betrayal. When a strange man named Lucian approaches him and asks him to write his story, Clay doesn’t know what to think. But the more he gets to know Lucian, the more obsessed Clay becomes with this demon’s story.

This book amazed me. What a clever premise. And so well done. Lucian tells Clay his version of God’s story from before creation until Jesus’ resurrection. It’s completely fascinating. In fact, I’ll never think about God in quite the same way. The visual of God in the mud, crafting Adam. The image of the light of his glory. The spiritual beings’ reaction to God becoming man. It was just so enthralling. And Tosca Lee intertwines Lucian’s story with Clay’s so that we see how both are connected. I highly recommend this book for just about anyone. It was that cool.
