YA Novel About Aliens and Teenagers is Second in Trilogy
After his parents were killed in a car accident, Colt McAlister was drawn into a world he thought only existed in comic books--one where mind control, jet packs, and flying motorcycles don't even scratch the surface. In Alienation (Thomas Nelson, January 3, 2012, ISBN: 9781595547545, $14.99), Jon Lewis's second Young Adult book in the C.H.A.O.S. series, Colt starts a new life training at the secret academy for Central Headquarters Against the Occult and Supernatural.
Accompanied by his best friends Oz and Danielle, Colt seems to attract strange accidents, even under tight security. What first seems random soon turns deadly. But Colt would never suspect who is behind it.
As alien invasions increase in frequency and force, C.H.A.O.S resources are taxed to the limit, and they're forced to utilize the new recruits. In the midst of battle, Colt will discover some startling revelations about himself, his friendship with Oz, and why he has been chosen to defeat this alien attack against earth.
Alienation is a novel inspired by the life of David. He also started out as an underdog, but he overcame an unlikely beginning and high-level betrayal to become a respected warrior and national hero.
Says author Lewis, "In Alienation I want readers to realize that like Colt, we all have a special calling. We just need to figure out what it is."
Graphic novels inspired Lewis in the creation of Colt McAlister and the C.H.A.O.S series. "I was inspired by the fast-paced storytelling, exciting characters, and amazing imagery, so I try to infuse all of that into my work.
Young adults and fans of graphic novels will find Alienation and the C.H.A.O.S. series a thrilling read, which includes a graphic novel prologue and a sketchbook of characters.
Alienation kicks off a program called "Great Stories Inspire Great Lives," a publisher-sponsored effort to assist retailers in effectively connecting stories to parents and young readers
