Give us your job description in 25 words or less. I am retired after 40 years in engineering, banking and securities services. I am now enjoying a wonderful second career in film acting with my talented wife Bonnie.
Describe a typical workday. Up at 8, check e-mails and investments, check casting notices, send out head shots, volunteer work, nap, rehearse for church orchestra (euphonium horn), dinner, watch cable news, bed at 10. Retirement….I highly recommend it.
What led you to realize that you wanted to do this type of work? 40 years in banking and an invitation from Bonnie when I retired to start acting workshops and auditions
Did you have any heroes or mentors in your industry that you admired? A co-worker at Mellon Bank many years ago.
What type of education or training was required to land your job? B.S. Chemical Engineering from Lehigh and an M.S in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon. Agent workshops in scene study and auditions after retiring.
What do you love most about your job? Working with Bonnie
What one part of your job do you wish you could hire someone else to do? None….I cherish it all.
What advice would you give to teenagers wanting to get into your field of work? Work hard at a day job, do some acting on weekends and then full time in retirement.
How does your job allow you to use your God-given gifts? We are now free to travel and attend auditions and shoots whenever we want.
Do you have any hobbies or off-hours pursuits that teenagers would find of interest? Played a baritone horn in high school and college. Layed out 40 years then picked it up again about 10 years ago. Dearly love playing in church orchestra.
