Give us your job description in 25 words or less. I review, preview, write columns, and news articles on video games. I also edit the work of others to keep the site and magazine cohesive.

Describe a typical workday. Sifting through emails, discerning which games to cover. Working with writers on their reviews, previews, news articles, and columns. Always, always, always praying to God for guidance.

What led you to realize that you wanted to do this type of work? I was praying about the lack of Christian media in the video game arena. God revealed to me that he had been preparing me for it. I was called to it by God. I really had no idea how to do it at first, but every single time God has provided.

Did you have any heroes or mentors in your industry that you admired? I am one of the pioneers for believers. I am always looking for fellow believers at E3. Sadly I am one of the few that are trying to reach gamers. I have always looked up to Jesus. He gave us the perfect example of reaching the lost. He went to them.

What type of education or training was required to land your job? A willingness to learn, and to be humble. The hardest thing any editor has to deal with is a writer who will not listen to the editor. Remember we are all human, and could be wrong.

What do you love most about your job? It is always different. I have no idea what God will bring before me today. I never know what games may come in (I know with some), what news may break. Getting to play games before they are released to the public is also really neat. I also love getting to be a shining light in a very dark industry.

What one part of your job do you wish you could hire someone else to do? Web layout and design. We do not have the resources to hire someone though.

What advice would you give to teenagers wanting to get into your field of work? Be humble. Be Biblical. Ask yourself would Jesus condone the sin in a certain game or movie. Would Jesus say: “well there is worse stuff out there.”?

How does your job allow you to use your God-given gifts? Discernment is the gift God gave me. By getting to review games and DVDs I am able to use that gift to help millions. I have seen changes in video game companies because of moral, ethical, and religious content in games they never considered.

Do you have any hobbies or off-hours pursuits that teenagers would find of interest? I collect shot glasses. Whenever I go on a trip I try to find a shot glass with the location or some landmark near there. They are for display only, as the dust on them proves. :) I built a wooden frame to house them. It is a nice conversational piece for guests.
