Give us your job description in 25 words or less. Lead & Train 25 leaders to help them help our 100k membership. To keep FaithFreaks safe, moderated and to provide help and resources for teens

Describe a typical workday. Since we are always open, I am always on call. ;) I usually start around 9am and work intermittently until about 2-3 am. We usually have our leaders meeting at 10pm (Because some if our leaders are in Australia). Most days I’m fielding emails, calls and messages. Sometimes I’m developing new ideas, others I’m putting out fires. Some days I spend on the phone with principals or teachers parents and law enforcement. Other days with other ministries or my leaders. Everyday is completely different.

What led you to realize that you wanted to do this type of work? I started to use social networking to keep in touch with kids from youth group , it was a great tool but there was lots of filth all over some of these site, myspace (language, advertising ..etc) and I said to myself these kids are immersed in this culture there has to be a better way, a place that they can connect and not have to wade through all that stuff. Social Networking is part of our lives, but many of the mainstream sites are not good places for teens. We are not to be conformed to this world.

Did you have any heroes or mentors in your industry that you admired? I admire anyone who is engaged in helping youth online, not to let themselves be conformed and destroyed by the internet. But giving them clean healthy God glorifying resources.

What type of education or training was required to land your job? Internet experience: I have done other Internet startups. Youth & ministry experience: I have been involved in youth ministry both high school and middle school since the early nineties. And involved in other ministries as well.

What do you love most about your job? I love when we are able to provide help and hope to a young person, whether we are getting an ambulance to their home, setting them up with counselors/pastors or sharing scripture on how to live as a believer, this is what I love.

What one part of your job do you wish you could hire someone else to do? Raise money and writing.

What advice would you give to teenagers wanting to get into your field of work? Preparation, know who you are what you want to do and your target audience, and stay humble.

How does your job allow you to use your God-given gifts? This job allows me use my gift of compassion and service.

Do you have any hobbies or off-hours pursuits that teenagers would find of interest? I like to play PC games, Xbox 360 & Wii. I also ride motorcycles, dirt bikes and quads. And I practice martial arts.
