Clash Creative was privileged to produce a 28-page graphic novella for The Voice of the Martyrs entitled, "Hope Amid Horror." Written by Ben Avery (ArmorQuest on Clash), and beautifully illustrated by Rob Woodrum, with a cover painting by Douglas Klauba, this comic is a powerful, redemptive story that shows what one family faced in indonesia in the years 2000-2001.
"We are so blessed to be able to work on a project like this," said Clash President, Ken Raney. "The Voice of the Martyrs is such a wonderful ministry to the persecuted church world-wide and they wanted to produce a book that illustrates this persecution and that can be used to encourage those facing persecution by showing them that they are not alone. This has been a powerful experience for our whole team. Each of them has expressed to me the honor they felt to be involved with this book."
Synopsis: The pastor said it at Methu and Adel’s wedding: “What God has joined together, let no man tear asunder.” But that was before radical Muslims attacked their Indonesian village and killed their son … before Adel was kidnapped and forcibly married to a Muslim man. It seemed that these evil men had indeed torn their marriage asunder. But God had joined them together, and God would sustain their marriage.
Hope Amid Horror, VOM’s 28-page graphic story book, is the amazing true story of how God sustained Methu and Adel through the pain of losing a child, the pressure of separation and the persecution of radical Muslims.
This colorful format is a great way to introduce the realities of Christian persecution to high school and college students, or anyone who enjoys graphic story books.

To be Christian means we should engage with our world instead of cutting ourselves off and choosing to stay ignorant of the realities of the world. But that makes it so much easier to make broad assumptions about others so we can sit in judgement and place ourselves above our fellow man.
The real horror of Muslim extremism is that a relatively small group of people are using their religion to attempt to control and rule others. We have the same problem in our own country.
