I was so impressed with Ivy the Kiwi? on the Wii that I put the Nintendo DS version on my purchase wish list. The game finally came down into my price range, and I scooped it up. This hand held title has the player take on the role of a little bird trying to find his mother. The main game play mechanic is to draw vines that the little birdie can walk along. This is also a way to bring the birdie over walls, and to avoid spikes. Spikes will be the least of the player’s concerns in some levels. There are nasty creatures that will try and hurt your noble creature.

One Epic Game earns points for such an epic name for a game. This iPhone/iPod Touch game is a run and gun. In case your not versed on that term, let me explain. This is a game with a character that is running from left to the right. He shoots enemies as they come up to him. One Epic Game includes a mountain of jumping, and shooting.

Children of Mana is a wonderful example of what is wrong with the role playing genre in this age. Some of these problems have existed for a long time, but numerous companies have progressed past them. Here is another role playing game that promotes goddess worship. No wonder so many weak Christians have turned to new age beliefs. They have been brain washed over and over again by the game developers proselytizing their beliefs. All the while they say to themselves its only entertainment. Yet they conform to what the game tells them.

There will be a Nintendo 3DS version of this game coming in February 2012. I saw this game at E3 2011, and it was very impressive. This Wii game impressed Family Friendly Gaming so much that it was awarded the Silver Medal E3 Award.

Social games are all the craze right now. Why? Well all your friends and family love to hear how you just built a house, sailed a boat, harvested some lettuce, or chopped down a tree inside a video game. All joking aside, there are a fair number of people who like to game together. They compete in games, and even trade in them.

The Rabbids franchise is alive and well over at Ubisoft. The latest release with these characters comes to the Xbox 360 Kinect. Rabbids Alive & Kicking will have family members up and moving around. The ESRB put a rating of everyone ten years old and older. I would recommend families follow that at a bare minimum. Children under the age of ten can be worked up by this home console title.

It has been my pleasure to play and review numerous hidden object games. There is something fun about finding hidden items inside a picture. The Princess Case A Royal Scoop is in that vein but vastly different from what I am used to. First off, The Princess Case A Royal Scoop has a very clean look to it. Real looking rooms are presented in this iPad, and iPhone/iPod Touch game. They do not look all cluttered like other hidden object games.

I have always been a fan of the turn based strategy role playing games. All the way back to Shining Force. Which is the stick I use to measure all games in this genre. Time of Heroes obviously learned some things from past games, and it has brought some interesting new concepts to the genre. The most important thing is the realistic sounding story. Your people have come to a new land, and are just trying to survive. Like the Pilgrims in the Americas.

Generally gamers look at DLC's in two different ways. The first camp absolutely loves them because for a few dollars they get additional content to their favorite games. The other camp sees it as a way to fleece the consumers. Family Friendly Gaming falls somewhere in the middle of the two camps. Some of us are into DLC's, and others are not so big on them.

I do not play many games on the Personal Computer (PC). Mainly because most of them require copious amounts of time, a degree in some kind of major history, or the most powerful computer on the planet. Yes I exaggerated a little bit there. Which is why I love coming across a game that I can play that is not running extremely slow, or telling me to upgrade. I prefer buying a console and getting to buy games for it for five to ten years without worrying about some kind of upgrade.

Review: "Pokemon Black Pokemon White" - Nintendo DS
Reviewed by Paul for FamilyFriendlyGaming
SCORE: 80/100
Pokemon Black and Pokemon White are essentially the same game. At the end of the game players get access to a different legendary Pokemon. In Pokemon Black they can enlist the aid of Reshirom. They have to battle Zekrom. Pokemon White flips that. If you have played any Pokemon game in the last decade you know what to expect from Pokemon Black/Pokemon White. You set off on a mission to get all eight badges from the gym leaders. Then it is on to the Pokemon League. Pokemon Black/Pokemon White actually shifts the story up some. First off you do not have a rival. You have two friends who help along the way. They force you to battle them at times for various reasons. So in a way it is more like the cartoon. Which is progress for this franchise. There are 150 new Pokemon, and you have to beat the game before bringing in Pokemon from previous games. Which is actually a way to keep the game fair for those who have not beaten the game. Of course once you beat the game, then all bets are off, and Pokemon like Celebi can be brought across.

Pilotwings Resort lets players fly around Wuhu Island in some fun little aerial craft. There are airplanes, hang gliders, and rocket packs. Those are the main three in Pilotwings Resort. A few unique craft make their appearance in Pilotwings Resort. This is not a realistic flight simulator by any means. Miis are the characters players get to play, and this island has been used in numerous Nintendo titles. The 3D depth of Pilotwings Resort is what will draw most gamers in. Getting to fly around Wuhu Island at your leisure will keep them interested - for a time.
