Jar on a Bar may not be the most flashy game name on the iPhone/iPad platform. But the name describes this hand held game perfectly. We have a little fish in a jar. He is on top of these bars. We need to get the fish down to the river. If we let him fall too far the jar breaks, and he does not make it down to the river.
That is the concept behind Jar on a Bar. This physics puzzler can be tough, mainly when we have to slide our little fish down a bar. I learned some new game play concepts thanks to Jar on a Bar. I looked at the puzzles in new ways to find solutions. There were a few times I had to call in our resident gaming expert.
The visuals in Jar on a Bar are friendly to families. Our little fish has a few fun animations. Especially when we get him down to the river. Which makes me think of so many different gospel songs. Gospel music does not play in Jar on a Bar. It would have fit in a neat way if it had. The music in Jar on a Bar is enjoyable though.
Getting three stars in every single level can be difficult. Beating the levels is not as difficult. Jar on a Bar is the standard ninety-nine cent we have come to expect from the majority of Chillingo titles. There are enough levels to warrant the price in my opinion. The universal code works on iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads. Only one code is needed per family.
The game play is where Jar on a Bar really shines. This hand held video game flows. The physics in Jar on a Bar make perfect sense, and are very believable. My only question is how does this fish keep getting stuck in jars on top of these bars? What sadistic person keeps catching this poor fellow and putting him up there?
All in all Jar on a Bar is an enjoyable app to play. Levels can be beaten quickly. I have matured past the point of wanting to spend hours on a level inside a game. I appreciate the quick levels. There are enough levels to keep most players busy for a few days at the very least. Depending on how many hours you spend on Jar on a Bar.
