Space Holiday has all of the ingredients to become a huge hit in the iOS realm. This iPhone/iPod Touch app is fresh, fun, family friendly, and alive with personality. We draw lines in Space Holiday from star to star. We have to create a shape. Once we do our little spaceman flies through the shiny vortex we have created in space.
That sounds like the easiest thing to do on planet right? Well see these asteroids get in our way. We can not have one in the middle of the object we are creating. So we have to find novel ways around them. Or we have to find novel ways to remove them. Thankfully Space Holiday is kind to families in this regard. Ninja stars are my favorite. They destroy asteroids when we tap them and then line up another star.
Graphically Space Holiday is very cute. Asteroids will explode when we finish a level or draw a line through them thanks to the ninja stars. That is as violent as Space Holiday gets. To be opinionated I do not even see that as violent. But if you do, I will not argue or be judgmental. There are a variety of colors used in the different regions of space. The attention to detail is evident in Space Holiday.
The music in Space Holiday is fun. It enhances the mood of this hand held video game. There is a little tutorial at the beginning of Space Holiday, and when we acquire a new kind of star. Space Holiday shows players what to do, and how to do it. If anyone gets confused in Space Holiday, it is because they are not paying attention.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for this review before Space Holiday went live. There are more than enough levels to keep families busy. There are also more than enough levels for the price. It is also highly possible that more will be coming in the future. Space Holiday is a fun game that helps us analyze the best path to victory. Like many other apps we earn so many stars based on our performance. Those stars are needed to unlock additional worlds.
I am so thankful I was able to play and review Space Holiday. This is a cool game that has all kinds of potential. The characters are fresh and fun. The game play is interesting and different. The sounds are teeming with life. Families can discuss the best shapes to draw with simple on screen tapping. I hope to see more games like Space Holiday in the future.
