Review: "Epic Adventures La Jangada HD" - iPad

Epic Adventures La Jangada HD is a good new and different direction for G5 Entertainment to take the hidden object genre. We are finally spared all the occult, and new age mysticism. We finally get a more real life story. A love story at that. Epic Adventures La Jangada HD is the chick flick of hidden object games. And it is something I welcome with open arms.
Epic Adventures La Jangada HD is not a perfect game though. The biggest oddity that stuck out to me is the voice acting. It does not match the words on the screen. There is emotion in the voice actors, and the music is wonderful. Why the words being spoken and words on the screen were different tells me this product was rushed to market.
Visually there are numerous beautiful scenes in Epic Adventures La Jangada HD. The characters show their Personal Computer (PC) roots. Which is okay with me. There are some animations here and there but normally we are looking at beautifully drawn pictures.
The objects are hidden in very clever manners. I used the hint button in Epic Adventures La Jangada HD over and over again. Sometimes just tapping around the screen worked. I am disappointed with the length of Epic Adventures La Jangada HD. I beat this game in under a day, and I did use my iPad for other things in that day as well.
I like the concept of a hidden object love story. Epic Adventures La Jangada HD has a lot of promise. A few more months in development would have done this hand held game some good. Maybe there will be sequels in this genre and they will receive improved treatment. I do hope to see more games like Epic Adventures La Jangada HD in the coming months.
