Review: "Snail Bob" - iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad

SCORE: 88/100
Snail Bob confused me. How do I classify this game? It is an app where we have a little snail. He is moving around the levels. We have different mechanical objects to interact with. These help Snail Bob get to the exit. Along the way we pick up stars that are cleverly hidden in each level.
So I went to the expert. The main man. The BIG KAHUNA! He told me that Snail Bob is a mechanical puzzler. I think he may have made that up, but I keep that just between us. Don't tell anyone please. Snail Bob has a wonderful feature that I absolutely adore. I will call it stop. Tap on Snail Bob and he will go into his shell.
Why would stopping be important? We may need to prepare the way for him so he does not get squashed or fall off a ledge. Hurting this poor little critter is a very easy thing to do. I can not really look at a snail as adorable. I guess they have their uses, but not in my garden.
The graphics in Snail Bob reinforce the mechanical puzzler name, especially the mechanical part. Snail Bob moves from one pipe to the other one. I think its sad his pipes were cut in half, and all of these objects were put in the way. The only violence in Snail Bob is when he dies from one of our mistakes. The level starts over from that point.
Top notch music is included with Snail Bob. Special effect sounds encourage players to explore the different screens. Especially if you want to get all three stars in each level. I loved finding how many different interactive things there are in Snail Bob. So did my youngest son. He loves tapping all around, and seeing what happens.
There are sixty levels in Snail Bob for the ninety-nine cent price tag. They are quick and easy at first. But it does not take Snail Bob long to bring the challenge. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for this review. I had fun with Snail Bob, as did others here at Family Friendly Gaming.
