Review: "Drift Mania Championship 2" - iPhone/iPod Touch
Reviewed by Frank for FamilyFriendlyGaming
SCORE: 75/100
Drift Mania Championship 2 is not for the feint of heart, or those that are prone to dizziness. In this iPhone/iPod Touch app we race around these tracks drifting as much as possible. The more drifting the higher the scores. The higher your score the better chance you have of progressing to the next level.
Drift Mania Championship 2 is not an easy game either. Most games have a learning curve where the temperature is slowly turned up on the player. Drift Mania Championship 2 is like hitting a cliff face. I raced and raced again and again. Yet I could not beat the first race in career. Why not? I was only getting half of what I needed to complete it. That is discouraging.
The music in Drift Mania Championship 2 is loud, and rockish. I had trouble discerning the words, but there is a screen that shows the two bands and their three songs (each band). There is however an option to include your own music. I went with that since the music in Drift Mania Championship 2 was not to my personal tastes.
I did not get sick from twisting the screen around, holding the speed button, and trying to touch the hand brake while looking at the screen. A few others here at Family Friendly Gaming did get sick and had to lie down after playing this hand held drift racing game. So it can negatively impact the human brain.
There are multiple race tracks, vehicles, and upgrades to the vehicles in Drift Mania Championship 2. If you can get into this game then you will have a lot of replay value. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for the review of Drift Mania Championship 2.
Drift Mania Championship 2 looks okay, and I like some of the different background effects used. There is an intro video with a few women busting all out. Not really clear on what they had to do with race cars, but like the video game industry it is another one that has not moved on from showing women as objects of lust for men.
