Review: "Robot Rescue 2" - Nintendo DSi

Robot Rescue 2 is a puzzle game on the Nintendo DSi that took me by surprise. It is a very solid title that has a lot going for it. One of those things is a really low price. What is that price? 200 Nintendo points. Translated that means two dollars. We are talking app price here.
I can see Robot Rescue 2 becoming a huge hit. First and foremost we have these robots that need to get to the exits. We move them around while holding a Nintendo DSi machine (or later DS family device) sideways. Our robots move from one screen to the other. The key is getting all robots to the exit.
Robot Rescue 2 is extremely easy at first. And then the game tweaks the player and makes them think in a variety of different ways. The graphics have a very cute look and feel to them. We can blow up our robots by having them move onto a mine field, or fry them on electrical wires. This is the fantasy violence the ESRB references.
The music in Robot Rescue 2 is pleasant and infectious. I really enjoyed listening to it while playing this hand held title. I was not fond of accidentally blowing up my robots and hearing them explode. I am human and prone to error sometimes. The solutions were not always easily discernible in my opinion.
The controls in Robot Rescue 2 are spot on. I really had a blast playing this little hand held video game. I would love to see this franchise continue in the future. Especially if additional levels are included. Families get their moneys worth out of Robot Rescue 2 on the Nintendo DSi.
