“Awake” is Cadence’s latest 5 song EP release. The opening song “Closer” is a song that was co-written by the band with Tenth Avenue North’s Michael Donehey and producer Rusty Varenkamp. Single “Forgiveness” comes from the powerful truth that God doesn’t just forget our sin when we confess to Him, but that Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). The third track “Awake” is the title track of the EP and it is an honest cry for revival of the heart. The chorus sings “Pour down like a waterfall…” Hence, the cover artwork. “Hands Reach” captures the heart of the message that Cadence has been given to preach to believers. The final track “Turn the Page” seems to have the most “raw emotion” with a captivating piano melody and dynamic expression of the suspense that is felt in Cadence’s unfolding story, in which only God turns the pages.
